This week was one of my most favorites of the entire pregnancy! We had two fantastic appointments and started parenting class at the hospital. Best of all the baby is doing amazing!
We kicked off week 30 with a regular check up and saw one of my most favorite doctors who we haven’t seen since last year. It is amazing how incredibly different our life is compared to just one year ago. Last time we saw him we had just had our second miscarriage and were feeling crushed. Fast forward a year and we are experiencing one of the greatest highs in our entire life. He was elated to see us and even happier to find out how well the pregnancy has been going. Then on Wednesday we started our parenting class at the hospital. Talking about what to expect and watching the videos they showed us made it feel really real and something about seeing my husband holding this silly little doll just made my heart melt with excitement. I know he is going to be an incredible dad.
The best part of our whole week was our final perinatal appointment at the hospital on Thursday where we got to spend an hour seeing our little man on the big screen at the hospital. These appointments are so special and I am so blessed to be able to share each of these moments with not only my husband but also my parents. The 3D images were absolutely incredible and I actually started to cry with happiness when we saw his face. I think he definitely looks like his dad already. The baby already weighs a whopping 4 lbs 1 oz and is in the 90th percentile for growth at his age. At this rate he is going to be close to 9 pounds at birth (yikes). When the dr. came in he said well I hear this kid is perfect and that he is going to be a big guy. I said you mean at delivery? He said no…big in life! Funny to imagine considering the only tall person in my family was my grandfather who was 6’5. Here are just a few of our favorite shots.
Here is what was up in week 30:
Symptoms: The moment I have been dreading…my first stretch mark! It is small but totally there. Whatev…I will wear this one and however many others that show up with pride because there is nothing more in this world that I have ever wanted as much as this child. Other than my newest accessory nothing major this week.
Weight Gain: Up a total of 20 pounds.
Cravings: None this week but really enjoying twizzlers (as usual)
Looking forward to more parenting classes, working on his room and counting down the days until I finally get to hold my boy!
