God Bless Joseph Jacob

“Baptism is the initial step of a faithful heart.” – Max Lucado

Our first major milestone in his life has come and gone in the blink of an eye! This weekend Joseph celebrated his first sacrament at our church as he became baptized. Baptism is such a beautiful sacrament. A child is born so innocent with a pure heart and once they receive this blessing a baby is as perfect as they will ever be in their life. Our hearts were filled with love and joy as we presented our son to God and our parish. We held our breath as he was blessed with holy water as he was sound asleep but he didn’t even make a peep and instead just opened his eyes and smiled. (Guessing all that practice during bath time paid off!)

He wore a beautiful  traditional long silk gown by Sarah Louise that my mom treated him to during mass and a sweet little onesie from Etsy store MonogrammeMaison at his party.

I really loved the JJL on his collar 🙂 Such a cutie pie…

Something that was extra special to us this weekend was the fact that he wore the same shoes and used the same baptism blanket that my husband and his older brother used at their baptisms over 30 years ago!

Another great Etsy purchase this weekend was our baptism party favors. Joe is an oreo addict and these chocolate covered oreo cookies with crosses were a huge hit with our family and friends. Thank you to BakedByMeliss for such a great job! I was so happy with doing business with her and appreciated how beautiful and tasty these came out and how well she packaged them for shipping. We didn’t even have one cookie casualty and she even threw in a few extra!

It was a beautiful weekend and we are so grateful to all who made it so special for our entire family.
