Food Trucks, Cold Drinks and the New York City skyline…Pier13 in Hoboken is the perfect spot to soak up the sun when you don’t feel like battling Parkway South traffic to head down the shore. We had such a great time here this past weekend.
If you haven’t been to Pier13 and you live in North Jersey then you have to add it to your list of things to do this summer.
Sit Back and Relax
The key to a solid Sunday Funday is finding some time to relax and recharge. We felt like we were on vacation while we were there with the sun beating down on our skin and music playing in the background. Plus hanging out with NYC as the backdrop is such a treat and a reminder of how lucky we are to live where we do.
The pier is filled with picnic tables, lounge chairs and bean bags to sit on but come early because by 3 o’clock is was packed with people.
And if the sun gets to be too much you can take a walk through their misting tent or throw on a swimsuit and rent a jetski or paddleboard.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
There is nothing like a good food truck and Pier13 is lined with a ton of them. They have something for everyone from simple sandwiches to Thai food!
We enjoyed a special wood fired pizza from Pizza Vita and tried our first ever lobster rolls from Luke’s Lobsters. Both were fantastic but we wished we saved room for frozen bananas from Amandas Bananas. (definitely next time!)
**Update…we went again and this time I made sure to make room for Amandas Bananas and it was so worth coming back for!!
In between bites we also enjoyed our drinks in their beer garden. We were overwhelmed with drink choices and tempted by their drink buckets but resisted knowing we had work the next day. Joe tried the Purple Haze and Hell or High Watermelon beers and I enjoyed a frozen Miami Vice.
