Halloween at HomeGoods for The Win

pinHave you ever pinned a DIY project on Pinterest with every intention of creating something amazing but watched it slowly collect virtual dust month after month only to realize you may have been a little over ambitious?

Of course you have. We all do it.

I had one of these moments when I stumbled across a Halloween advent calendar from Corner House. Laura’s project is super cute and seemed relatively easy to make but I just didn’t have the time to get this project done. I filed it into my “maybe next year” projects.

Collect Moments Not Things

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.

I met this sweet little creature during a video shoot at work this week and she stuck around for way longer than I expected. Hoping it is a good omen for things to come!

How To Freeze Time at Your Next Big Event

While you might not REALLY be able to freeze time just quite yet, you can certainly capture a fun moment in time in a cool and special way. Enter 360 photo booths.

I have seen these before on TV during red carpet preshows on Award shows but finally got to experience the fun of one in Vegas while my team explored the floors of the consumer electronics show. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip.

This week, while in Chicago, my company rented one and branded it for our Generation Blue Experience and we had a blast playing with it.

Recipe: Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Crispy Bacon

The first time I ever tried pumpkin soup was on our honeymoon in Aruba. It was by far the best soup either of us have ever had. Since then I have tried a few recipes but haven’t found anything that compared to the one we tried in Aruba. And while I wouldn’t say this one is better it is pretty darn close! It is creamy, really rich and very filling. I would love to serve this an an appetizer during the holidays with crispy bread to dip in it.

Head over Heels for the IT Color of Fall Fashion

Military Green is everywhere you look when it comes to fashion this fall. From over-sized jackets to skinny jeans I can’t get enough! I walked into J.Crew this weekend looking for jeans and instead left with this coat and the sneakers below. (oops)

J. Crew | Field Mechanic Jacket

I have been looking for a jacket like this in the perfect shade of green for at least a year and this one is pure perfection. It is much more fitted than it appears and the material is nice and thick. The elevated collar gives is a sophisticated look and gives a home to a hood for when you want it. I have a feeling it will be making into my fall uniform rotation.
